You'll sharpen your academic English skills with AIPE's English for Academic Purposes (EAP) course. Learn how to write great academic essays, analyse detailed information and perfect your note-taking skills - all essential for succeeding in any university course.
At AIPE, we've developed two levels, both focused on developing your academic English skills and preparing you for further study at a university or college: English for Academic Purposes 1 (EAP 1) and English for Academic Purposes 2 (EAP 2). Entry is based on a student's language proficiency.
Prepare to undergo an intensive program of study. Your teacher will provide you with regular feedback on assessment and class work in order to ensure that you develop an understanding and appreciation of academic standards required to enter vocational and higher education institutions.
During this course you will:
- Develop reading and comprehension skills
- Improve academic writing and note taking skills
- Improve listening and critical thinking skills
- Develop fluency in speaking English
- Improve grammar and vocabulary
- Practise the study skills required to prepare you for further study in diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate programs
The assessment tasks are similar to those that students undertake in university courses and require students to use library resources, including subject specific databases. Students have the opportunity to focus on their own area of interest, such as nursing or business.
Classes start every Monday. There are 20 hours of classes per week.
